Ulrich Lohbauer is the head of the Research Laboratory for Dental Biomaterials at the University Clinic of Erlangen-Nuremberg in Germany. He received his Diploma in Materials Science and Engineering at the Technical Faculty, University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and his interdisciplinary PhD degree (Dr.-Ing.) in Dental Materials Science. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials and currently its Secretary. His research interests are long-term response, lifetime assessment, mechanical and physical performance of dental restorative materials and clinical fractography.
