He earned his DDS in 1979, his Dr. Odont degree in 1992, and became a specialist in prosthodontics at the University of Oslo in 1994. Prof. Jokstad has an extensive background in tutoring, research, authorship, and editorial work within evidence-based dentistry, with a primary focus on operative, prosthetic, and implant dentistry.
